The film tells the story of Xiao Yan (played by Hsia Yu-Chiao), who kills her abusive father to protect her mother, resulting in an eight-year prison sentence. After serving her time, she returns to her small town to live with her mother (played by Yang Kuei-Mei) but faces judgment from the community, struggling to get her life back on track. Her half-brother Xiao Wei suddenly visits, forcing her to take care of him, while her mother’s new boyfriend, Ren Ge (played by Sam Tseng), reveals a violent side, prompting Xiao Yan to remember her past with her father. Meanwhile, Wu Ai-Lee, who looks exactly like Xiao Yan, is in a performance class in a big city, trying to understand life through acting. When the shared secret of Xiao Yan and Wu Ai-Lee is unveiled, will Xiao Yan be able to escape her tragic fate?
