The main plot of "With or Without You" centers around the story of a 25-year-old white-collar worker, Li Wenxin, who is lost and depressed, meeting a 39-year-old male book critic, Zhang Jingxing, who is in a state of despair and helplessness. Attracted by each other's unique qualities, they grow closer and eventually fall in love. Through this relationship, they regain strength and break through their respective life bottlenecks. However, due to their different choices, they ultimately part ways and go down separate paths.
