Li Wenxiu (played by Zhou Yi-ran), a Han girl who grew up in Altay, is passionate about pursuing her literary dreams in the big city. However, due to continuous setbacks, she is forced to return home and lives with her mother, Zhang Fengxia (played by Ma Yi-li), who runs a small shop. After meeting the Kazakh teenager Batu (played by Yu Shi), Wenxiu gradually discovers the beauty of her hometown.
