The Spirealm

The story follows VR game programmer Ling Jiushi (played by Huang Junjie), who decides to quit his job due to work-related frustrations. To escape his worries, he visits a game store and plays a beta version of a game called "Lingjing." Later, he unexpectedly receives a complete copy of the game from abroad. Following a sudden car accident, he finds himself in a corridor with twelve iron doors, also known as the "World of Doors." "Lingjing" features twelve doors, each leading to a world with different eras, backgrounds, and story settings. To escape the World of Doors, one must pass through all twelve doors. However, each door has varying levels of difficulty, and breaking any taboo conditions within a door results in death, which also causes death in the real world. The only way to return to the real world is by finding the exit door and its key. Upon entering the first door, Ling Jiushi encounters a cold and mysterious man dressed in a modified version of traditional Han clothing. This man is Ruan Lanzhu (played by Xia Zhiguang), the leader of the "Passing Through" organization known as Obsidian. Although Ruan Lanzhu appears indifferent, he secretly assesses Ling Jiushi's character and abilities. After exiting the door, Ruan Lanzhu decides to partner with Ling Jiushi for the long term. The two become an ideal team and together navigate through many doors. Meanwhile, Ling Jiushi's sorrowful past gradually comes to light. Their fateful encounter leads to an extraordinary conclusion.
