The Midsummer’s Voice

"The Midsummer's Voice" is a youth film produced by MaxTimes Pictures, directed by Zhang Yudi, and co-written by Huo Xueying and Zhang Yudi. The film stars Bian Cheng and Zhou Meijun, with Zhang Chi, Chen Shaoxi, and Xu Shixin in supporting roles, Liu Jun in a special appearance, and Song Xiaochuan in a guest role. The story follows fifteen-year-old Sun Xiaolei, who has been pressured by his father to learn traditional Peking opera since childhood. The upcoming National Youth Peking Opera Competition presents an opportunity for him to showcase his talents, but he is plagued with anxiety about his impending voice change.
