  • The story is set in 2006, a time when all of Taiwan was focused on Wang Chien-ming's games, but a murder case shatters this tranquility. A woman surnamed Hsu reports her father missing for six months, stating that he was friends with a deceased individual from the market. The investigating officer, Zhang Zhenze (played by Chang Chen), discovers that the father of another murder victim also has an unclear connection to the market case.
During their search for clues, Zhang Zhenze and his partner, Xiao Cai (played by Liu Kuan-ting), uncover a spy case from 1956, speculating that the fathers of these victims may be linked to a reading club from that time. Meanwhile, the owner of a food factory, Mo Zifan (played by Mo Tzu-yi), begins her own investigation to rekindle memories of her father. As truth gradually surfaces between memory and forgetfulness, Zhang Zhenze and Mo Zifan find themselves navigating the intersection of history, stepping into the shadows of the past while moving toward an uncertain future. Both are driven by their pursuit of truth, each uncovering the scars of Taiwan's history in their own way.
