Sowers of Hope

The story begins in 2002, when newly graduated An Yan (played by Tong Liya) is assigned to teach at Heping Middle School in Changzhi County. Coming from a city background, she initially struggles to adapt to the teaching environment and philosophy of the rural school. However, as she interacts with her students and conducts home visits, An Yan gradually realizes the importance of rural education and feels a sense of value in being 'needed.' Inspired by the former principal and her current principal, Fu Shengzhi (played by Kang Aishi), An Yan learns and inherits the educational philosophies of 'guarding' and 'hatching,' eventually becoming a well-known and outstanding teacher.
In 2012, An Yan was appointed vice principal in charge of logistics at Heping Middle School, where she promoted the implementation of the 'Nutrition Lunch' program. In 2016, she was appointed principal of the poverty alleviation resettlement school. Faced with weak educational foundations and a complex student demographic, An Yan led a group of exceptional rural teachers to systematically solve problems, creating a quality learning environment for the children. Representing dedicated rural teachers, An Yan and her peers tirelessly labor and cultivate their students, helping many mountain village children reach broader horizons.
