Six Sisters

The story begins in the early days of New China, as engineer He Chang Sheng moves his family from Yangzhou to Huainan, Anhui, where they take root by the banks of the Huai River. Over twenty years, the He family welcomes six daughters but faces tragedy when the patriarch unexpectedly passes away. The eldest daughter, He Jia Li (played by Mei Ting), along with her grandmother He Wen Shi (played by Xi Mei Juan) and mother Liu Mei Xin (played by Wu Jun Mei), takes on the family responsibilities, raising her five younger sisters in a time of material scarcity. The series spans the era of reform and opening up, depicting how the key figure played by Lu Yi witnesses the rise and fall of the He family through the sisters' choices in marriage, career struggles, and life challenges.
Amid contemporary conflicts and changes, the sisters, now scattered across different regions, ultimately find strength in their father's "family teachings," composing a survival poem of ordinary people supporting each other in a grand era.
