The protagonist, Lin Huaijun, surpasses the common marriageable age, opts for a simple and relaxed life in the mountains of Taichung, rearing chickens and cultivating corn. She is constantly surrounded by her anxious aunt, worried about her prospects of marriage, her rebellious niece, Lin Xinru, who just returned from Shanghai, and her younger brother Lin Weihong, happily spending every day with his fiancée. The sweet intimacy between her brother and his fiancée kindles her desire for love.
Yet, her longing for love makes her fearful of expressing emotions. Therefore, she chooses to disguise herself as "Salli" on a dating app, initiating ambiguous conversations with a French man named Martin.
