The story begins with the creation of two quantum artificial intelligences, Kuro and Shiro. Dr. Ke builds these two AIs to accompany his son, who suffers from ALS, as he grows up. After experiencing the five stories of Q18, Kuro and Shiro gradually learn about humanity and evolve consciousness and emotions. They help the boy gain love and friendship by connecting quantum computers with the human brain. However, just as this beautiful utopia is about to be realized, the doctor believes that technology has spiraled out of control and decides to destroy Kuro and Shiro himself…
