The protagonist of the story is a police officer named Wu Ming-Han, who is extremely homophobic and scared of ghosts. During an investigation, he accidentally picks up a red envelope and unexpectedly gets involved in a ghost marriage. His ghost marriage partner is Mao-Mao, a gay man who wanted to marry his boyfriend but tragically died in a car accident. When life starts to become unbearable, Wu Ming-Han, who was initially reluctant to participate in the ghost marriage, must cooperate with the ghost Mao-Mao to find out the truth of the car accident, in hopes to resolve their marriage bond. As the plot progresses, the relationship between Wu Ming-Han and the ghost, Mao-Mao, undergoes subtle changes. They gradually change from merely a "ghost-married" couple to really being friends. They embarked on journey after journey filled with both tears and laughter.
