The story primarily revolves around the fallen noblewoman Luo Lingyu (played by Lin Yun). After losing her parents and facing the decline of her family, she seeks refuge with her distant cousin, the Lu family, in Jianye, bringing along her young sister. However, during the journey, an accident leads to a misunderstanding with the third son of the Lu family, Lu Yun (played by Fang Yilun), resulting in her pushing him off the boat.
