The story revolves around a single father, Li Changfeng, who decides to take the path of revenge after his daughter is abused to death by several minors. In the process, a bloody counter-attack unfolds between him and the police, triggering the ultimate showdown between sentiment and law. Whether the target of the crime is an adult or a child, the perpetrators are villains. Director Chen Zhuo noted that the ending of the film is somewhat different from Higashino's novel. From a humanistic perspective, a 'violence against violence' revenge ending would make this movie a finale. However, the director anticipates that a conclusion with more depth would stimulate more thought and resonance from the audience.
