"Border Sea" is a Chinese romantic drama film guided by the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Guangxi Film Bureau, co-produced by Guangxi Xinsen Investment Co., Ltd. and the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of Fangchenggang City. The film is written by Mo Yiyuan and directed by Wang Chenliu, featuring leading performances by Zhao Yingbo, Ding Zhao Duan Yi (from Vietnam), and Liu Sibao, with supporting roles by Liu Zhibing, Qin Yang, Xie Yan, Li Ge, Qi Long, and Liang Chenyu. As the first Chinese film to reflect the friendly exchanges between China and Vietnam through border trade, "Border Sea" centers on a touching love story that depicts the romantic relationship between Jing ethnic youth A Yong and Vietnamese girl A Hua. The film is set to premiere in mainland China on February 14, 2025.

  • The story follows Chinese Jing ethnic young man A Yong (played by Zhao Yingbo) and his close friend A Cheng (played by Liu Sibao). The two encounter A Hua (played by Ding Zhao Duan Yi) from Vietnam during border trade, leading to a complex emotional entanglement over time. However, their beautiful relationship faces significant setbacks due to external interference and schemes, plunging the three into a tragic situation.
    Six years later, A Yong has successfully transitioned into a domestic supplier of Vietnamese seafood products, while A Cheng marries A Mei, the girl he saved during his troubled times. This completes their cross-border love story. Nonetheless, A Yong’s longing for A Hua and his search for her continue, as this tale of love that "crosses mountains and seas just to meet you" persists.
