Zhou Yi-wei, born on August 24, 1982, in Jishou City, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, China, is a well-known mainland Chinese actor. In 2003, he ranked among the top ten in the national finals of the second “Golden Star” TV Newcomer Competition on Hunan TV, which marked his entry into the entertainment industry. In 2004, Zhou Yiwei gained recognition for his role as Liu Chuan in the drama “陽光像花一樣綻放 (Sunshine Like Flowers).” In 2006, he starred in the emotional drama “Thank You for You Have Loved Me.” In 2007, Zhou Yiwei received the Sina Network Ceremony Newcomer Award. In 2008, he played the lead role in the rural drama “八百里洞庭我的家 (My Family in the Eight Hundred Li Dongting).” In 2010, Zhou Yiwei appeared alongside Ruby Lin and Li Yixiao in the urban emotional drama “獨家披露 (Exclusive Disclosure).” In 2012, he co-starred with Ma Su in the period suspense drama “Lie Yan.” In 2013, Zhou Yiwei starred in mainland China’s first legal drama, “The Gold Medal Lawyer.” That same year, he portrayed Ding Xiuyi in the film “Brotherhood of Blades.” His performance left a lasting impression on the audience. In 2014, he played Tie Lin in the TV series “The Red.” In 2015, Zhou Yiwei took the lead role in Fu Dongyu’s historical legend drama “The Great Shaolin” and also appeared in Cao Dun’s epic fantasy drama “Tribes and Empires-Storm of Prophecy.”
In 2017, Zhou Yiwei participated in Zhejiang TV’s program “演員的誕生 (Birth of Actors)” and won the annual championship. He later attended Milan Fashion Week. The same year, he acted in the film “The Founding of an Army.” In 2018, Zhou Yiwei starred in the film “Dying to Survive,” which received widespread acclaim after its release. Also in 2018, he played the lead role in the ancient suspense drama “The Longest Day in Chang’an” and won the annual championship in “Birth of Actors” once again. In 2019, he appeared in the film “Liberation” alongside Huang Xiaoming and Zhong Chuxi. In November of the same year, he began filming the web drama “New Face” in Yunnan. In 2020, Zhou Yiwei appeared in the realistic-themed film “勇敢的你 (Brave You),” which received positive reviews. On January 9, 2021, his TV series “Monarch Industry;The Rebel Princess” aired, where he portrayed Xiao Qi. On May 28, 2023, Zhou Yawei’s variety show “50km Taohuawu Season 3” was scheduled to air on Tencent Video. In the same year, he starred in the TV series “A Lonely Hero's Journey,” playing the character Mr. Li. In 2024, Zhou Yiwei appeared in the TV series “Judge Dee‘s Mystery” and "The Legend of Heroes".
