Zhang Ting, born in 1972 in Jinan, Shandong Province, is a screenwriter and director from mainland China, graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. In 2001, he was the screenwriter for the crime drama "警察李酒瓶 (Police Li Jiu Ping)," which won him the Golden Rooster Award, the "Five One" Project Award, and the Feitian Award. In 2003, his screenplay for the film "花兒 (Flowers)" won the 6th Xia Yan Literary Award. In 2005, the drama film "The Parking Attendant In July," for which he served as a screenwriter, was released and received the Best Screenplay Award from the Jury at the Montreal International Film Festival. In 2009, he wrote and directed his first film, "duel for love," which was nominated for Best Debut Film at the 16th Beijing College Student Film Festival. In 2010, he was the screenwriter for the historical drama "Confucius." In 2013, he wrote and directed the romantic drama "Meng's Palace," earning the Best Television Screenwriter Award at the Beijing Television Festival for this work. In 2015, the fantasy historical film "Monk Comes Down the Mountain," for which he was a screenwriter, was released. In 2019, he directed the historical drama "Ming Dynasty." In May 2021, he received a nomination for the first Australia Hollywood International Television Festival's award for Outstanding Television Screenwriter of the Year, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In 2022, the period drama "Wild Bloom," for which he was the screenwriter, aired, and he received a nomination for Best Screenwriter (Adapted) at the 28th Shanghai Television Festival's White Magnolia Awards in 2023.
