Zhang Lu-yi

Zhang Lu-yi (Edward Zhang), born on June 7, 1980, in Beijing, China, is a male actor and director from mainland China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama's directing department in the 1999 class and obtained a Master's degree in Arts from Peking University in 2011. In 2005, Zhang Lu Yi participated in his first television drama "Yu Qing Sao," officially entering the entertainment industry. The following year, he directed and starred in the play "和空姐同居的日子 (Days Living with a Flight Attendant)." From 2008 to 2010, he played a doctor in the play "琥珀 (Amber)," directed by Meng Jinghui. In 2013, he participated in the television drama "Troubled Times Three Brothers," which won the ratings championship in the Beijing region during its broadcast. That same year, he appeared in the film "The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel."
In 2014, he gained widespread attention for starring in the war drama "The Red" and also appeared in the film "The Golden Era." In 2015, he starred in the spy drama "Sparrow." In 2016, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 22nd Shanghai Television Festival's Magnolia Awards for his role as Xie Han in "Love Me if You Dare," and he starred in the television drama "The Mystic Nine," which received over 10 billion views online. In 2020, he played the role of the agent "Tie Lin" in the television drama "New World," directed by Xu Bing.
