Zhang Guo-li

Zhang Guo-li, born on January 17, 1955 in Tianjin, China, graduated from the Art Department of the Railway Cultural Troupe and served as a famous actor, director, producer, host, and philanthropist in Mainland China. He also holds various administrative positions such as the Chairman of National Beijing Chang Sheng Stoneman Films Ltd, the Dean of Chongqing University's College of Art and Film, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a national first-class actor, a master's supervisor, the former general manager of Shanghai Film Group Huanya Culture Development Co., Ltd., and the Vice Chairman of the China Television Production Committee. His wife is the actress Deng Jie, and he has a son, Zhang Mo, who is also an actor, from his previous marriage with Luo Xiuchun. Zhang Guoli has been a prominent figure in the film and television industry since 1987, earning awards for his roles in the plays "Miss Julie", the film "The strangers in Beijing", the TV dramas "Records of Kangxi's Travel Incognito", "A Sigh", "忠誠 (Loyalty)", "五月槐花香 (Huaihua Fragrance in May)", and "Gold Marriage". In 2009 and 2011, he was awarded the Flying Sky Award for Chinese TV dramas and the outstanding contribution award for TV dramas at the Drama Festival, respectively. In 2013, his starring role in the film "Back to 1942" won him the Best Male Lead Award at the 29th China Film Golden Rooster Awards. In the following year, he hosted the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. In 2016, Zhang served as the chairman of the jury of the Magnolia Award at the 22nd Shanghai TV Festival and attended the fourth meeting of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In 2017, his public welfare project "Guoli Love Fund" won the "Charitable Public Welfare Person" award at the GMIC X Extraordinary Festival in 2017. In the same year, he served as the commentator for the program "國家寶藏 (National Treasure)" on CCTV. In 2018, he was named in the "China TV Drama 60 Years Series: People's Volume". In 2021, he received the Honorary Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Centennial Party TV Drama at the inaugural Hollywood International TV Festival Golden Orchid Awards. In 2022, Zhang Guoli participated in the 2022 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. In 2024, the movie "Strangers When We Meet" directed by him was released in Mainland China.
