Yau Nai-hoi

Yau Nai-hoi, born on April 14, 1968, is a director and screenwriter active in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. He joined TVB in 1989 and was invited to join Johnnie To's Cosmopolitan Film Productions Co., Ltd. in 1992. From 1996, he became a key member of Milkyway Image (HK) Ltd., serving as a trusted assistant to Johnnie To and Wai Ka-fai. Yau closely collaborated with other screenwriters and story creators such as Szeto Kam-Yuen, Au Kin-yee, and Yip Tin-shing, together crafting numerous films beloved by audiences. His meticulously constructed scripts have earned him high praise, and his works "Running on Karma," "Election," and "Mad Fate" have won him the Best Screenplay Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards three times. Additionally, as a co-writer, his contributions to "PTU," "Throw Down," and "Election" have garnered the Best Original Screenplay Award at the Golden Horse Awards. After accumulating extensive experience in screenwriting, Yau made his directorial debut in 2007 with the film "Eye in the Sky." The film not only earned him the Best New Director Award at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards but also received nominations for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay, solidifying his status in the film industry.
