Yao Xiao-feng

Yao Xiao-feng, born on June 19, 1969, graduated from the Cinematography Department of Beijing Film Academy. He is a male director from mainland China, a national first-class director, and a cinema professor. After graduating in 1991, Yao Xiaofeng taught at the academy and entered the Young Filmmakers Factory of Beijing Film Academy in 2000. Yao's directing career is diverse. In 1997, when he shot the romantic film "After Divorce" directed by Wang Rui, he was first nominated for the Best Cinematography Award at the 17th China Golden Rooster Awards. Then in 2005, he directed his first love drama "The Deep Nights". In 2010, his historical drama "葉落長安 (Leaf Falls in Chang'an)" won the Excellent TV Drama Production Award at the 12th China-Japan-Korea TV Producers Forum. It was not until 2011 that Yao Xiaofeng started to venture into the field of family drama and directed "Aftershock". In 2013, Yao was nominated for the Best Director Award at the 20th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Award for directing the family comedy "May-December Love". In 2015, he directed the urban family drama "Tiger Mom", which won him the Best Director of the Top 100 TV Dramas at the 19th Huading Awards. Between 2016 and 2020, he directed several urban emotional dramas. In 2024, his spy drama, "War of Faith", premiered on the CCTV Drama Channel on March 21.
