Yang Zi-shan, born on November 6, 1986, in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a mainland Chinese actress and singer. She graduated from the Nanjing University of the Arts with a major in Music Performance. In 2005, Yang Zishan officially entered the entertainment industry with her single "Baby Baby." In 2007, she participated in the Jiangsu TV reality show "名師高徒 (Master and Apprentice)," where she won second place in the national finals and released her first EP "十八般舞功 (Eighteen Martial Arts)" the same year. In 2008, she shifted her focus to acting in film and television. In 2010, she gained recognition for her role in Taiwan's first healing film "In Case of Love." In 2013, Yang Zishan garnered more attention for her role as Zheng Wei in the youth romance film "So Young." She received multiple accolades for this performance, including nominations for Best Actress at the 29th Golden Rooster Awards, the 32nd Hundred Flowers Awards, and the 56th Asia-Pacific Film Festival. She also won the Outstanding New Actress Award at the 15th Huabiao Film Awards and the Best Actress Award at the 5th Chinese Visual Festival in the UK.
In 2015, the comedy film "20 Once Again," starring Yang Zishan, was released. She won the Best Actress Award at the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival Media Awards and the Golden Phoenix Award from the 16th China Film Performance Art Academy. In July 2016, she starred in the romance film "One Night Only." In 2017, the suspense film "Battle of Memories," starring Yang Zishan, was released. In May of the same year, she starred in the drama film "Walking Past the Future," which was nominated at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. In 2018, Yang Zishan starred in the world's first adventure romance film shot in Antarctica, "Till the End of the World." In 2020, her drama film "Wu Hai" was nominated in the main competition section of the 68th San Sebastian International Film Festival. In 2021, her drama film "Ripples of Life" was nominated at the 74th Cannes Film Festival.
