Xiao Shen-yang, born as Shen He on May 7, 1981, in Kaiyuan, Liaoning Province, China, graduated from the Tieling County Art Troupe and the Jilin Linyue Art Troupe. He has held multiple roles including actor, singer, and host, and has had outstanding performances in errenzhuan (a style of Chinese folk art), sketch comedy, film and television, song, and variety show entertainment. In 2006, Xiao Shen-yang had the privilege of studying under the comedian Zhao Benshan, and in 2007 he formally entered the entertainment industry, featuring in his first film and television work "沒完沒了的愛 (Endless Love)." In 2009, he partnered with Zhao Benshan and others to participate in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, gaining national fame. The same year, he was favored by the famous director Zhang Yimou, who cast him as the lead in the movie "A Simple Noodle Story." In 2010, Xiao Shen-yang starred in the action-comedy movie "Just Call Me Nobody" and once again participated in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.
