Weng Liang-ping

Weng Liang-ping is a screenwriter born in 1982 in mainland China. He completed his studies in Drama, Film Literature, and Film Studies at Wuhan University in 2005 and 2012, respectively, earning a master's degree. After graduation, he held the position of Planning Department Manager at Jiangxi TV Drama Production Ltd. In 2014, the crime prevention microfilm "迷途 (Lost)" he produced won the first prize in the first themed microfilm review by Jiangxi Province prosecuting authorities. It also won the first prize in the 11th National Rule of Law Cartoon Animation Microfilm Collection and Evaluation competition in 2015. In 2018, Weng Liangping chose to resign from his institutional job and fully commit to the work of screenwriting. In 2021, the historical TV series "Decisive Victory," which he co-wrote with Zheng Yineng and Huang Jiandong, premiered on the CCTV general channel. The series won the Excellent TV Drama Award at the 33rd Feitian Awards and the "Five One Project" Award at the 16th Spiritual Civilization Construction. In 2023, he cooperated with Chen Jin and Liang Zhenhua to write a TV drama on major revolutionary historical themes, "The Forerunner," which was broadcasted on CCTV that year in December. In 2024, he took on the role of sole screenwriter for the financial espionage drama "War of Faith".
