Wang Xun, born on November 27, 1974, in Chengdu, Sichuan, is a well-known male actor, screenwriter, and director from mainland China. His achievements in the performing arts have led him to become the president of the Bashu Comedy Artists Association, as well as a council member and vice president of the Sichuan and Chengdu Quyi Artists Associations.
Wang Xun's acting career began in 1992 when he apprenticed under Shen Fa, learning crosstalk and skits. He later studied under Yang Ziyang, a disciple of Hou Baolin. In 2006, he gained attention for his role as the "Four-Eyed Secretary" in the film "Crazy Stone." Over time, he appeared in several works after 2009, including "Crazy Racer" and "My Chief and My Regiment," often in comedic supporting roles.
In 2012, Wang Xun joined Huang Bo's studio and participated in films such as "Design Of Death" and "The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel." In 2015, he became a popular figure on the variety show "Go Fighting" on Dragon TV. On December 1, 2017, he took on his first leading role in the film "Kill Me Please," showcasing his acting skills. He starred in "The Island" in 2018 and appeared in "The Big Shot" and "Save Your Soul" in 2019. That same year, he was honored as a "Cultural Ambassador of China" at the 7th Munich Chinese Film Festival and won the "Best Asian Actor" award at the 2nd Netherlands New Horizons International Film Festival for his role in "Save Your Soul."
In 2020, he performed a skit titled "Happiness is Actually Simple" with Sun Tao and Yan Ni during the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. His film "Home Coming" was released in 2022. On August 18, 2023, he appeared in the film "Papa," followed by a special appearance in the crime thriller "Across the Furious Sea" on November 25. On December 29, Wang Xun starred in the comedy film "Johnny Keep Walking!"
In 2024, he is set to appear in the comedy films "Super Villain" and "Flying Mind." Wang Xun’s diverse roles and outstanding acting skills have made him one of the most respected comedic actors in the Chinese film and television industry.
