Wang Qian-yuan

Wang Qian-yuan, originally named Wang Jinping, was born on June 27, 1972 in Shenyang, Liaoning, and has ancestral roots in Qingdao, Shandong. He is a notable male actor in China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and further studied at Beijing Film Academy. He ventured into the film industry in 1994, starring in his debut film "Winner" and co-starred with Gong Li in the film "Breaking the Silence" in 1997. He then starred in the war film "Home in My Heart" and the emotional ethics drama "Romantic Affairs" in 2003. In 2006, he appeared in the spy drama "五號特工組 (No. 5 Special Agent Group)" and subsequently decided to change his name to Wang Qianyuan. In 2010, Wang Qianyuan won the Best Actor award at the 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival and the 7th China-America Film Festival for his lead role in the film "The Piano in a Factory". He was in John Woo's film "The Crossing" in 2014 and received rave reviews for his villainous role in the crime film "Saving Mr. Wu" in 2015, earning him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards.
