Wang Kai

Wang Kai, born in 1987 in Shanxi Province, is a Chinese mainland male director and screenwriter. In 2003, he officially entered the film and television industry. In 2014, Wang Kai's directed romantic comedy film "Broadcasting Girl" was released. In 2016, his directed micro-film "國畫 (National Painting)" won the first prize in the Central Organization Department's Anti-Corruption Film Selection; in the same year, he started filming the comedy film "爆炒老闆 (Stir-Fried Boss)." In 2018, Wang Kai directed the firefighting-themed film series "特勤精英 (Special Forces Elite)." In 2019, he directed the ancient costume action fantasy film "Monster Hunter", the youth romance film "Fire works", and the suspenseful detective drama "異域檔案之暹羅密碼 (The Siam Code)" which aired in November. In 2020, Wang Kai directed the adventure action film "蓬萊龍棺之徐福寶藏 (Penglai Dragon Coffin: Xu Fu's Treasure)" in August, the ancient costume action fantasy film "鍾馗降魔 (Zhong Kui Conquers the Demon)" in September, the ancient costume action war film "大明烽火 (Great Ming Beacon Fire)" in October, and the ancient costume action fantasy film "Kill the Monster" was released in December. On March 20, 2021, Wang Kai's directed ancient costume web film "燕赤霞獵妖傳 (Yan Chixia's Demon Hunting Legend)" was released on Tencent Video; on the same day, his directed ancient costume action film "Overlord" started filming in Hengdian. In 2022, his film "老九門之青山海棠 (The Gate of Old Nine: Green Mountain and Begonia)" was released. In 2023, Wang Kai served as the general director of the film "Black Hunting Operation" which was released on Tencent Video. In the same year, his directed TV series "The Truth Of Scent" aired on iQiyi. In 2024, his directed drama series "Limited 72 Hours of Love" aired.
