Tsai Yueh-hsun

Tsai Yueh-Hsun, born on September 27, 1968, in Taiwan, is a renowned director and actor. His wife, acclaimed screenwriter Yu Hsiao-Hui, and he co-founded Prajna Works Entertainment in 2007, making major contributions to Taiwan's film and television industries. His sister, Tsai Mi-Chieh, also a director from Taiwan, has been influential in his career.
Tsai's career began in 1987 under the mentorship of his father, Tsai Yang-Ming, starting with script supervising and production work and gradually becoming an assistant director. In 1991, he starred in the cop-action film "Joe-Goody". In 1994, he appeared in the historical drama "Emperor Taizong of Tang (唐太宗李世民)". After joining TVBS-G in 1997, he produced and directed a music program, "Music Love Story". In 1999, he directed his first television work, "World affectionate". In 2001, he directed the idol drama "Meteor Garden", which won overnight acclaim and was awarded the Best Director award for a TV series at the 36th Golden Bell Awards in Taiwan. In 2006, his notable medical drama "The Hospital" won him the Best Director award for a drama program at the 42nd Golden Bell Awards. His direction of the action-driven police drama "Black & White" in 2009 again earned him a Golden Bell Award. In 2012, his produced action film "Black & White Episode I: The Dawn of Assault" brought him a Best New Director nomination at the 49th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. In 2014, he directed the action film "Black & White: The Dawn of Justice". On January 18, 2015, Tsai won the Best Director award at the 15th Huading Awards. Tsai Yueh-Hsun’s illustrious career underscores his exceptional directing and acting abilities.
