Shaun Tam Chun-yin was born on July 30, 1980, in Hong Kong. He is a well-known actor and host, currently signed under a management contract with TVB. Born in Hong Kong, his name was changed by director Chang Cheh. He attended St. Joseph's English Secondary School before moving to Ridley College in Toronto, Canada, where he majored in Advertising.
In 2000, Shaun joined the management company of Derek Yee and starred in his first film, "Midnight Fly." He began to actively participate in the film industry in 2001. Over time, he appeared in various productions including "Star Runner," "Love Bird," and "Happy Birthday" after 2003.
In 2016, he officially signed with TVB and took on leading roles in several series, including "Succession War," "The Stunt," and "Forensic Heroes IV." In 2018, his performances in "Succession War" and "The Stunt" received nominations for Best Series at the TVB Anniversary Awards. In 2019, he played Bao Zheng in the costume drama "Justice Bao:The First Year," earning a nomination for Best Actor.
In 2018, seeking to spend more time with his family, he decided to develop his career in Hong Kong and set a personal example for his children. In 2021, due to his resemblance to Lee Jung-jae, the lead actor from the hit series "Squid Game," he was dubbed the "Hong Kong version of Lee Jung-jae" by netizens. That same year, he won his first "Best Actor" and "Most Favorite TVB Male Actor in Malaysia" awards at the 2021 TVB Anniversary Awards for his role in the suspense drama "Take Two."
In 2023, Shaun starred in the action blockbuster "Bursting Point," which premiered at the Hong Kong International Film and Television Fair and was released on December 8. Additionally, his series "The Queen of News," co-starring Sheren Tang, officially launched on November 17. In 2024, he starred in the television drama "Big Biz Duel."
