Sammo Hung

Sammo Hung (Hung Kam-po), also known by his stage name Yuen Lung, was born on January 7, 1952. He is a renowned Hong Kong actor, martial artist, film producer, and director. Sammo Hung's ancestral home is Ningbo, Zhejiang, but he was born and raised in Hong Kong. He apprenticed to Peking Opera master Yu Jim-yuen at the age of ten and served as a martial arts instructor in the film industry in his early years. In 1971, he worked at Golden Harvest and served as a martial arts instructor in "The Fast Sword", earning him the Best Martial Arts Instructor Award at the first Golden Dragon Awards in Taiwan. In 1977, he began playing leading roles and won the Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 1982. He again won the same award in 1989. Sammo Hung is skilled at shooting action films, such as "The Magnificent Butcher", "The Eastern Condors", "Knockabout", all of which achieved box office results in tens of millions. In addition, he has created comedies, such as the popular 'Lucky Stars series'. Therefore, Sammo Hung holds an unmatched status in the Hong Kong film industry. During the downturn of the Hong Kong film industry in the late 1990s, Sammo Hung chose to go to America and appeared in "Martial Law". It was not until recent years that he returned to Hong Kong to continue shooting Hong Kong films, with representative works like "SPL: Sha Po Lang / Kill Zone".
