Peter Ho

Peter Ho (Ho Yun-tung or He Run-dong), born on September 13, 1975, in California, USA, graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design. He is a renowned Chinese-language film and television actor, pop singer, and model, who has been active in the film and television markets of Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan for many years. In recent years, he has successfully transitioned into a distinguished director, screenwriter, and producer. He was discovered by a music producer during his sophomore year in college and entered the entertainment industry. In 1994, Peter Ho made his debut by participating in his first film, "The Lovers." In 1998, he released his first personal music EP, "The Beginning of Dreams," and his first personal music album, "Missing Your Love," in the same year. In 1999, Peter Ho won the Bronze Award for the Most Promising Newcomer at the 22nd Hong Kong Radio Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards. In 2001, he played Luo Xiaohu in his first martial arts drama, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." In 2002, he portrayed Bu Jingyun in the costume fantasy martial arts drama "The Storm Riders." In 2003, Peter Ho played Mao Jie in the Hai Yan drama "Yu Guan Yin" and Leo in the tokusatsu film "Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost," becoming the first "non-Japanese Kamen Rider" and the only "Chinese Kamen Rider" in the "Kamen Rider" series. In 2004, Peter Ho won the Top Ten Actors Award at the 4th China TV Arts Awards. In 2005, the costume fantasy martial arts drama "The Storm Riders II," in which he starred, was broadcast. In 2007, Peter Ho released his fourth personal music album, "I Really Want to Tell You," and played Liang Shanbo in the costume romance drama "梁山伯與祝英台 (The Butterfly Lovers)" in the same year. In 2010, Peter Ho played Lü Bu in the costume drama "Three Kingdoms" and won the Asian Popular Male Singer Award at the Metro Mandarin Music Awards with his album "Perfect Lover." In 2011, he won the Best Crossover Artist Award at the Huading Awards for Chinese Satisfaction Survey. In 2012, Peter Ho played Xiang Yu in the costume drama "Legend of Chu and Han" and won the Best Actor Award at the 1st Hengdian Film and TV Festival "Wenrong Awards" for this drama. In 2017, Peter Ho played Wu Pin in the period drama "Nothing Gold Can Stay" and Hua Mantian in the costume suspense drama "As Flowers Fade and Fly Across the Sky" in the same year. In 2018, his youth drama "Age of Rebellion," which he wrote, directed, and starred in, was broadcast, and he won the Best Director Award for a Drama Program at the 53rd Taiwan Golden Bell Awards for this drama. In 2020, Peter Ho played Fuchai in the epic costume drama "Huan Xi Sha." In 2021, the urban workplace drama "Fighting Youth," in which he starred, was broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV, Dragon TV, and Youku. In the same year, he directed "Who’s by Your Side," which was broadcast on HBO. In 2022, he directed the unit "Congratulations to the Zeng Family for a Happy Event" in "On Marriage." In 2024, the TV series "Burning Flames" and "The Legend of Heroes", in which Peter Ho participated, were broadcast on iQIYI and WeTV respectively. In the same year, the series "Breeze By The Sea," which he directed, was completed.
