Nyssa Li

Nyssa Li (Li Nien-Hsiu) is a renowned Taiwanese director, screenwriter, and editor, who graduated from the Graduate Institute of Film and Television at the National Taiwan University of Arts. In her early career, she focused on editing and contributed to the production of several notable films, including My Football Summer, The Peach Grandma, and Suicide Pact. Among these, My Football Summer won the Best Documentary Award at the 43rd Golden Horse Awards, showcasing her exceptional editing talent.
Between 2006 and 2008, Li Nianxiu actively participated in the production of short films and documentaries, serving as an assistant director and editor. She assisted Liao Mingyi in directing Suicide Pact, which was nominated for Best Narrative Film at the 30th Golden Harvest Awards. She also edited works such as "Death Alive" directed by Yang Li-chou, "The End of The Tunnel" directed by Chang Jung-chi, and "Darling, how are you?" directed by Michelle Chu. Among these, "Death Alive" won the Best Narrative Short Film Award at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival.
In 2010, she was nominated for Best Editing at the 47th Golden Horse Awards for "Hip-Hop Storm", further solidifying her reputation as a "master film editor." In 2015, she completed her directorial debut, "Hebei Taipei", a documentary that took fifteen years to film and tells the story of her father. The film not only won the Best Documentary Award at the 2016 Taipei Film Festival but was also nominated for the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival competition.
In 2022, Nyssa Li wrote and directed the short film "Can You Hear Me?", which won the Best Narrative Short Film Award at the Golden Horse Awards, once again demonstrating her versatile creative abilities. In 2023, she directed the family drama series "I Am Married... But!", starring Alice Ko and Jasper Liu. In 2025, Nyssa Li continued to expand her creative horizons. The film "Molly", for which she co-wrote the screenplay, premiered on January 18, followed by the release of her directed TV series ""I Am Married... But!" on February 14.
