Nina Paw

Nina Paw (Paw Hee-ching) was born on July 20, 1949, in Hong Kong, with ancestral roots in Anhui, She County. She is a well-known actress and television host. In 1966, she enrolled in the artist training program at the Great Wall Movie Enterprise, marking the beginning of her acting career. In 1977, she participated in the art film "Qu Yuan," directed by her father, Bow Fong, which was their only collaboration on screen.
In 1979, she joined Rediffusion Television Limited and acted in various series on ATV, also hosting the informational program "Afternoon Tea." In 1980, she appeared in the martial arts film "White Haired Devil Lady," produced by Great Wall, and later transitioned to ATV, starring in dramas such as "Fatherland," "Rise of the Great Wall," and "The Silver Tycoon." In 2003, she co-starred in the TV drama "Fei Mao Xun Qin Ji" alongside Kent Cheng Jak Si and Siqin Gaowa.
In 2008, she played a single mother in the film "The Way We Are," directed by Ann Hui, earning her the Best Actress award from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society and a nomination for Best Actress at the 28th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2009, she appeared in the film "To Live and Die in Mongkok," directed by Wong Jing, and in the TV drama "Xian Dai Jie Hun Jin Xing Qu Zhi Zui Yu Hui."
In 2010, she portrayed the mother of the male lead in the film "Crossing Hennessy" and also appeared in the ATV sitcom "GO GO GO Hong Kong." In 2011, she participated in the Lunar New Year film "All's Well, Ends Well 2011." In 2012, she starred alongside several well-known actors in the light comedy "Quan He Xiao Zu" and appeared in "Wudang."
In 2013, she acted in the TV drama "Beyond the Rainbow" and the film "Rigor Mortis," directed by Juno Mak. In 2015, she made an appearance in the film "Detective Lady." In 2020, she participated in the suspense crime TV drama "Forensic Heroes IV," and on September 17, she starred in the socially relevant film "I'm Livin' It."
In 2021, her film "Fate" was released, and she played the role of Grandma Zhu in the Hong Kong-style anti-crime movie "The Attorney." In 2022, she appeared in the TV dramas "Hero" and "Get On A Flat."
In 2024, her projects include the films "Rob N Roll," "Wonderland" and "A Man and a Woman," with her participation in the film "The Embers" set for release on November 15. Nina Paw's versatile performances have made her an important figure in Hong Kong's film and television industry.
