Ng Wai-lun is a film director and scriptwriter in Hong Kong. He completed a bachelor's degree in film and television from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2000, majoring in directing, and immediately joined the Hong Kong film industry. Early on, Ng Wai-lun was primarily responsible for writing action films. His written work "The Stool Pigeon" earned him his first nomination for Best Screenwriter at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Starting with "Cold War 2" in 2016, he began collaborating with Leung Lok Man and Luk Kim-ching; in "Monster Hunt 2" in 2018, he once again teamed up with Chan Wing Sun on the screenplay. In 2021, his biographical screenplay "Anita", co-written with Leung Lok Man, became the second highest-grossing Chinese-language film in Hong Kong box office history. He has also participated in the screenwriting of various films including "Hit Team", "Runaway", "The Twins Effect", "Love Battlefield", "SPL: Sha Po Lang", "The Beast Stalker", and more. In 2022, Ng Wai-lun announced the start of his debut directorial feature "A Guilty Conscience", which premiered during the Lunar New Year of 2023, becoming the first Hong Kong film in history to break 1 billion at the box office, and ranked eighth in box office earnings among all films in Hong Kong.
