Money Tsai (Tsai Jia Yin) was born on January 3, 1988, in Taiwan. She was recruited into Taipei Municipal First Girls' High School due to her basketball talent and later graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Drama. During her university years, she participated in a short film directed by her classmate Liu Yi-shen, where she was discovered by director Hsieh Pei-ju.
In 2019, Tsai gained attention for her leading role in the film "Heavy Craving," which earned her the Best New Performer Award at the 21st Taipei Film Awards and the Best Actress Award at the 1st Taiwan Critics Society Awards. Her performance also garnered her a nomination for Best New Performer at the 56th Golden Horse Awards. Her husband is stage director Fan Tsung-chi.
In 2021, she starred as the lead character, basketball coach Fan Jiang Feng-jun, in the Hakka Television idol drama "Girls Win." Her performance in this series earned her a nomination for the Golden Bell Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, further affirming her acting expertise.
In addition to film and television, Tsai is active in theater, having participated in multiple productions and served as a drama supervisor, assisting with behind-the-scenes work for projects such as "Bad Education," "Day Off," and "Miss Shampoo".
She appeared in the television drama "Hello Ghost!," which premiered on August 18, 2023, followed by the release of the same-named film scheduled for September 20, 2024. Additionally, the television series "The Cleaner," in which she stars, aired on September 7, 2024. Tsai Jia Yin's diverse talents in the performing arts continue to attract attention and acclaim within the industry.
