Michihito Fujii

Michihito Fujii, born in Tokyo in 1986, began working in the film industry during his time at the Nihon University College of Art. His debut film "Oh! Father" was released in 2014. In addition to being a talented director, he is a versatile creator, having directed commercials and music videos as well as many films and television series.
His film "The Journalist" in 2019 caused a sensation, setting records in Japan for box office and viewership. For this film, he won the awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Japan Academy Film Prize and was also nominated for Best Director at the 43rd Japan Academy Prize. In 2020, he created a film titled "Yakuza and the Family," which was released in Japan in 2021.
