Michael Tao

Michael Tao (Tao Tai Yu), born on August 26, 1963, in Hong Kong, is a male actor and former TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited) artist. After graduating from the 12th TVB Artist Training Class in 1983, he joined TVB and is currently developing his career as a freelancer. In 1983, Michael Tao participated in his first television drama, "Angels and Devils". In 1992, he played the role of Kong Tze-yu in the drama series "The File of Justice". In 1995, he starred as the main character Cheung Tai-yung in the crime drama "Detective Investigation Files", which became the year's highest-rated TVB show with an average rating of 32 points and a peak of 38 points. He won the Top Ten Artists Award at the TVB Weekly Awards for his performance in this drama. In 1996, he won the Top Ten Artists Award again for his role in "Detective Investigation Files II".
In 1997, Michael Tao switched to ATV (Asia Television Limited) and starred in the 1999 drama "Flaming Brothers". He returned to TVB in 2003 and starred alongside Kenix Kwok in the 2005 drama "Love Bond". In 2009, Tao Tai Yu left TVB to develop his career in Mainland China. In December 2013, Michael Tao was invited to Shanghai, China, to present awards at the 11th Huading Awards Global Satisfaction Survey of Music Ceremony. In September 2016, his starring TV drama "The Hiddens" was broadcast. In 2021, he participated in the TV drama "Forensic JD". In 2024, he will star in "Triad 3".
