Mak Kun-chi

Mak Kun-chi, born on October 29, 1970, is a director from Hong Kong. He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1990, and in the same year, he joined the production department of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) as an assistant director. In 1994, he was promoted to director and was assigned to film "The Criminal Investigator" produced by Jonathan Chik. From 1994 to 2002, Mak Kun-chi participated in the production of various types of TV dramas, including "Cold Blood Warm Heart", "Old Time Buddy I&II", "The Duke of the Mount Deer 1998", "The Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain 1999", and "At the Threshold of An Era", all of which were well received by the audience. In 2001, he was promoted to senior director. In 2003, he left TVB and turned to the mainland China drama market. His representative works include series like "Westside Story", "Chinese Paladin", "Heaven's Wedding Gown", "Green Forest My Home", "Hong Kong Sisters", "蓮花雨 (Lotus Rain)", "Beauty World", "A Clear Midsummer Night", "琉璃美人煞 (LiuLi Beauty Killer)" and films such as " Love Spy" and "缺失 (Missing)". Notably, "Chinese Paladin" and "Beauty World" raised extensive discussion during their broadcast. In 2020, his fantasy love movie "Lich Hand To Destroy Flowers" went live on Tencent Video. In 2021, his film "The Kingdom of Women" was also broadcast on Tencent Video. He directed the TV drama "Long Life Long Street" in 2023. By 2024, his large-scale ancient fantasy drama "Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact" was broadcast on the iQiyi platform.
