Jian Lou, a Chinese film director and screenwriter, was born on July 14, 1967 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from the School of International Business, University of International Business and Economics, earning a master's degree in Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA). He is a member of the Chinese Television Director's Working Committee. His directorial career began in 2000 with his debut film "鋼鐵脊梁 (Steel Backbone)." In 2001, his directed and written film "父親·爸爸 (Father·Dad)" won several international film awards, including the Asia-Pacific Art Contribution Award, the Best Narrative Feature Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival in the US, and the Best Film Award at the Deauville Asian Film Festival in France. In 2006, he received the Hartley-Merrill International Screenplay Award from the Film Association of the United States for his film literature script "飄過屋頂的紅帆 (Red Sails over the Roof)", and was selected as a Sundance Film Scholar in the United States. From 2007 to 2022, he directed a number of TV shows and movies. In 2024, his TV series "Heroes" was broadcasted.
