Liu Yan

Liu Yan (Ada Liu), born on November 8, 1980, in Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is a well-known host, actress, and singer in mainland China. She graduated from Hunan Normal University. Liu Yan has garnered attention for her sexy figure and attractive appearance. In her early career, she primarily worked as a host before gradually developing her career in acting. In 1999, Liu Yan participated in the preliminary round of the "Beauty Flower City" competition in Guangzhou and signed with Channel 34 of Guangzhou TV to work as a program host. She also shot several advertisements and skits. In October of the same year, she pursued further studies at the Beijing Broadcasting Institute (now the Communication University of China). In 2000, she began hosting programs such as "Financial News" and "Spring of Environmental Protection" on Guangdong Cable Radio and Television Information Channel (now Guangdong Southern Television), officially launching her acting career. In 2002, Ada Liu became the host of the lifestyle and fashion information program "Wife's Fresh Look" on the Hunan Public Channel. In 2004, she became the anchor of Guangdong Satellite TV's information program "Zero Distance between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau." In 2005, Liu Yan signed with Enlight Media and became one of its leading female hosts, known as one of the "Three Treasures of Enlight" (the other two being Xie Nan and Da Zuo).
In 2007, Liu Yan starred in her first film, "Painted Skin," officially entering the film and television industry. In 2009, she played a role in the costume drama "The Legend of Yang Guifei." From 2011 to 2015, she appeared in various film and television works such as "Mural," "Diors Man", "Jian Bing Man," and "The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate," and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 22nd Shanghai Television Festival Magnolia Awards for her performance in the period drama "Young Marshal." In 2016, Ada Liu starred in the romantic comedy film "I Belonged to You" and the costume fantasy drama "Martial Universe." In 2017, she appeared in the action comedy film "Buddies in India." In 2019, the drama film "My Dear Liar," starring Liu Yan, was released, and she won the Best Actress award at the 11th Macau International Movie Festival for her performance in the film. In 2020, Liu Yan starred in the comedy film "The Winners." In 2021, she won the Best Actress award at the 5th China-Canada International Film Festival for "My Dear Liar." In 2023, Liu Yan starred in the romantic comedy film "I Like You More," which was released. The same year, the urban emotional drama "Incomparable Beauty," starring Liu Yan, premiered. In 2024, the variety show "Tonight Celebrity Show Season 2," featuring Liu Yan, aired, and the film "Life Hotel," in which she starred, was released. Additionally, she participated in the "2024 Beijing Radio and Television Spring Festival Gala.
