Liu Kuang-hui

Liu Kuang-hui, born on March 14, 1970, in Changhua City, Taiwan, is a director in Taiwan. He graduated from the Drama Department of Taipei National University of the Arts, greatly influenced by his teachers Huang Jianye and Yang Dechang, which sparked his deep interest in film art. During his studies, he participated as an assistant in the shooting of commercials and music videos, gradually developing his visual concept.
Since 1994, Liu Guanghui has worked as a music video director, having directed hundreds of music videos in Mandarin and Taiwanese. Beginning in 2002, he shifted his focus to dramatic productions, creating idol dramas while also engaging in film script development and stage directing. His notable television works include "Asunaro White Paper" (2002), "粉紅教父小甜甜 (Pink Godfather Sweetie)" (2003), "Honey Clover" (2008), "The Concerto" (2009), and "Lin Bei" (2011).
In 2012, his self-written and directed film "22nd Catch" won the New Director Award from the Ministry of Culture, successfully portraying mature women's longing for marriage and the insecurities of May-December romances. That same year, the web drama he directed, "Banana Boy," received a nomination for Best Web Drama from China Television. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the writer and director for films including "野孩子 (Wild Child)," "購物女王 (Shopping Queen)," and "懶人美食日記 (Lazy Gourmet Diary)," and co-directed "Mary Sue Jack Sue." His co-stars have included Peng Yuyan, Rainie Yang, Chen Yanxi, and Kuo Pinchao, among others.
In 2020, Liu Guanghui's film "Your Name Engraved Herein" was nominated at the Osaka International Film Festival and the São Paulo International Film Festival, and it received five nominations at the 57th Golden Horse Awards. On June 13, 2024, his new work "Caught in Our Passion" began shooting in Chengdu. On August 22 of the same year, his directed Taiwanese drama "The On1y One" officially aired.
