Liu Fang

Liu Fang is a representative screenwriter from the post-80s generation in China. She graduated from Communication University of China with a major in Drama and Film Literature, and later pursued a master's degree in directing at her alma mater, combining a background in literary creation with film and television production.
Her career began with works focused on youth themes, and in 2015, she participated in the script development of the family comedy "Mom is Like a Flower," showcasing her potential as a screenwriter.
In 2017, she gained recognition in the industry with the historical drama "The Glory of Tang Dynasty." Since then, she has delved into writing for costume dramas, producing notable works such as the fantasy drama "Love and Redemption" (2020) and the palace drama "The Promise of Chang'an" (2020). In 2020, she won the Top Five Young Screenwriters Award at the 3rd Chuxin List for "Love and Redemption," and also received the first prize in the script selection for the "Support for Outstanding Young Film and Television Scriptwriters" program from the National Radio and Television Administration, demonstrating her cross-genre writing capabilities.
In 2024, she entered a new phase in her career, not only being nominated for Best Adapted Screenwriter at the 29th Shanghai Television Festival's White Magnolia Awards for the martial arts adaptation "Mysterious Lotus Casebook," but also taking on the role of chief writer for the fantasy IP series "Love of the Divine Tree." Her works are characterized by a blend of genre elements and human characterization, continually expanding the narrative dimensions of costume dramas.
