Leon Dai

Leon Dai, born on July 27, 1966, in Taitung, Taiwan, graduated from the Drama Department of the Taipei National University of the Arts. He is a distinguished filmmaker, actor, and racing driver in Taiwan, with deep achievements in film, theatre, television, and contemporary literary creation. His expertise spans directing, screenwriting, editing, and performing. His acting career began in 1991 with the film "The Noblest Way To Die," later leading performances in "A Chance to Die" and "The Pact of Choshui River," for which he respectively received the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Bell Award for Best Actor in a Television series.
Dai's talent for film creation has also been recognized. In 2002, he won the Grand Prize at the 4th Taipei Film Festival for "Two Summers." The film "Cannot Live Without You ," which he directed in 2009, won countless awards at major film festivals worldwide, including the Golden Peacock Award for Best Film at the 40th Indian International Film Festival and Best Film at the 4th Asian Film Awards.
In 2014, he challenged a controversial role and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 51st Golden Horse Awards for his performance in "Sex Appeal." He also appeared in the film "Sentence Me Guilty" in the same year. However, he faced setbacks in 2016 while performing in "沒有別的愛 (Direct Translation: No Other Love)." Due to controversy over its political background, the director and producer chose to replace the male lead, but this did not deter his passion for film. His work remains influential in the industry.
