Lee Tat-chiu

Lee Tat-chiu is a renowned martial arts instructor, director, and actor from Hong Kong. His extensive experience in martial arts instruction and involvement in action design for "The Matrix" (1999) brought him into the limelight. In 2003, Lee served as the action director for "Infernal Affairs 2" and "Color of the Truth," the latter earning him a nomination for Best Action Design at the 40th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. In 2004, his directorial debut in "水月洞天 (Moonlight Resonance)" marked the beginning of the fantasy craze in Chinese TV dramas. In 2009, his work "Bodyguards and Assassins" won him the title of Best Action Choreography at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Lee's portfolio includes a number of well-known and commercially successful films such as "The Bravest" (2019), "The Captain" (2019), and "Chinese Doctors" (2021). He also ventured into new formats, like the 2016 suspense drama "Memory Lost," which broke 100 million views in just 55 hours after release. Moreover, he served as the action director for the 2017 historical drama "The Founding of an Army." In 2021, he directed the republican-era suspense drama "Couple of mirrors," which premiered exclusively on Bilibili. The following year, his period drama "Snow Eagle Lord" aired in mainland China, achieving high viewership. In 2024, his film "Formed Police Unit" was released in mainland China during the Labour Day holiday.
