Ju Xing-mao (stage name: Manyi), male, was born on June 26, 1981, in Zuoqiao County, Shanxi Province. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and is a Chinese actor, director, and producer. His acting career began in 1990 with the crime film "Bloody Morning."
In 1993, he won the Best Film Award at the 14th Hawaii International Film Festival for the movie "Red Firecracker, Green Firecracker" Between 1994 and 2010, he participated in several film and television dramas, including "You Duo Shao Ai Ke Yi Chong Lai," "Laughing in the Wind," "Xiong Di Ru Shou Zu" and "My Natasha." In 2009, he appeared in the war drama "Tie Li Hua."
On August 16, 2013, he directed the anti-Japanese legend drama "Da Gou Gun," which earned him a nomination for Best Director at the 20th Magnolia Awards in 2014.
In 2014, he played the character Little Six, a beggar, in "Braveheart." That same year, he co-directed the supernatural suspense drama "Soul Ferry" with Guo Shimin and made a cameo appearance as the character "Fifth Young Master." On February 1, 2018, his work "The Ferryman · Manjusaka" was released on iQIYI, and later that year, he won the award for "Top Ten Young Television Directors" at the inaugural "Original Intention List."
On October 28, 2020, Ju Xing-mao received the award for one of the Top Five Young Directors at the 3rd Original Intention List 2020 Annual Awards. On June 4, 2021, the film "Beautiful Women in Dreams" that he produced was officially released. On July 5, 2022, the television drama "Goddess Hotel," which he directed, premiered.
On June 11, 2023, he appeared in the television drama "My Chinese Chic Boutique," which aired on Tencent Video, playing the role of Fatty. On March 23, 2024, his directed and starring role in the Republic of China fantasy martial arts drama "Five Kings of Thieves" is set to premiere on Youku, where he plays the character Manager Qian. That same year, his directed film "Wonderful Youth" was also officially released.
