Jacky Cheung, born on July 10, 1961, is a renowned Hong Kong singer, actor, and musician, known as the "God of Songs" in the Chinese-speaking community. Starting from 1992, Cheung was recognized as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of the Hong Kong music industry, marking a peak in his singing career. On top of his career as a singer, Cheung also achieved immense success in the film industry, having acted in over 70 movies. His outstanding performances in comedies, dramas, and artistic films have led to multiple nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at both the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards. Notably, in 1989, he won the Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for "As Tears Go By". Subsequently, in 1990, he clinched the Best Supporting Actor award at Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards for "Swordsman". In 2002, his performance in "July Rhapsody" was honored at the Bangalore International Film Festival in India. Beyond his rich array of accomplishments in music and film, Cheung is also deeply passionate about social welfare activities. He was selected as one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong in 1998, and recognized as one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World in 1999.
