Hung Po-Hao, born in 1978 in the Houli District of Taichung City, is a Taiwanese director. He graduated from Wenzao Foreign Languages University with a degree in German, Shih Hsin University with a major in Broadcasting and Television, and the National Tainan University of the Arts with a master's in audiovisual documentary studies. During his university years, Hung worked as a photography assistant, sound assistant, and production assistant before transitioning to directing in 2004.
In 2010, he received funding from the National Communications Commission to create the short film "My Graduation Travel," which was nominated at multiple film festivals in 2011 and won Best Short Film at the Karmalan Film Festival and the Children's Film Festival. In 2012, his work was nominated for the short film category at the 49th Golden Horse Awards.
In 2016, Hung began co-directing "Wake Up 2" with Aozaru Shiao. In 2018, he released his first feature film, "Dad's Suit," and continued to be active in the field of visual creation. In 2023, his directed television series "The Way You Shine" premiered, followed by another series, "My Unexpected Roommate," which officially aired in 2024. That same year, his film "Doubles Match" was released in Taiwan. Hung Po-Hao's creative work spans multiple genres, showcasing his diverse talents as a director.
