Huang Xi

Huang Xi, born in 1975, is a female director and screenwriter from Taiwan, graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She was a member of Hou Hsiao-hsien's directing team and participated in the production of films such as "Goodbye South, Goodbye" and "The Assassin." Her directorial debut, "Missing Johnny," was released in 2017, and the film was nominated for Best New Director at the Golden Horse Awards, winning four awards including Best Screenplay at the Taipei Film Festival. It also received the Best Director award and was nominated for Best Feature Film at the 11th FIRST Youth Film Festival. In 2018, Huang Xi directed the film "Daughter's Daughter," which won Best Original Screenplay at the Golden Horse Awards and is set to be officially released in Taiwan on November 22, 2024.
