Ho Cheuk-tin
Ho Cheuk-tin, born in 1987, is a director from Hong Kong. He graduated from the School of Film and Television at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, specializing in directing. His short film "FOUL", made during his studies, won the "Outstanding Student Film Award" at the 11th International Student Film and Video Festival in 2012. The short film was also one of the opening films at the 8th InDPanda International Short Film Festival. After graduating, he became involved in a variety of productions, including working behind the scenes for the films "Unbeatable" and "To The Fore", creating commercials and MVs, and also participating in the RTHK drama series "Lion Rock: The High Price Takeover". He and his friends formed the online team "Mocking Jer", creating some popular online videos. During the filming of "Lion Rock" in 2016, he met director Philip Yung, and served as assistant director and director in his studio. In 2021, he officially became a director of the Film Culture Centre (Hong Kong), dedicated to promoting film education and cultural development. In October 2022, Ho Cheuk-tin made his debut with his first film, "The Sparring Partner", which is adapted from the 2013 Tai Kok Tsui double parricide and dismemberment case. that attracted the attention of the whole city of Hong Kong. This film won him the Best New Director of the Year award from The Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild and the Best New Director award at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2023, his film "Over My Dead Body" was released.
