Helen Yao

Helen Yao (Yao Xingtong) was born on April 12, 1983, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. She graduated from the acting department of the Beijing Film Academy. She officially debuted in 2003 with the TV drama "Together with You" and appeared in "Fei Chang Dao" in 2004. In 2006, she appeared in "Records of Kangxi's Travel Incognito 5" and starred in the film "Cheng Zhang" the same year.
In 2008, Yao Xingtong played the lead role of the blind girl Yue Ming in the tribute film "Blossom" for the Paralympics, for which she received nominations for Best Actress at the 18th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards and the 27th Golden Rooster Awards. In 2010, she acted in the film "Life of Sentime," winning the Best Newcomer Award at the Macau International Film Festival. In 2012, she portrayed the Chinese student Coco in Jackie Chan's action film "CZ12: Chinese Zodiac."
In 2014, she participated in the film "EX-Files" and took part in the charity event "For Mother's Smile," organized by the China Women’s Development Foundation. In 2015, Yao Xingtong was awarded the "Most Popular Actress in China" by the Korean Film Actors Association. In 2017, she was invited to serve as a judge at the Canadian Maple Leaf International Film Festival and was named a "Cultural Ambassador for the Disabled" by the China Disabled Persons' Federation.
In 2019, Yao Xingtong played the role of Hao Ran in the film "Fire works," for which she won Best Actress at the inaugural Duyun Film and Television Festival. She appeared in the film "Wing Chun" in 2021. In 2024, her film "The Legend of No. 9" will be released in mainland China.
