Guo Tao

Guo Tao, born on December 17, 1967, in Xi'an city, Shaanxi Province, China, is a film, television and stage actor in Mainland China, who is also known as the "handsome uncle". A graduate from the Central Academy of Drama, Guo made his acting debut in the 1991 film "Three Brothers". In 1994, he starred in the film "Farewell My Love", directed by Feng Xiaogang. He played the role of Bao Shihong in the 2006 drama film "Crazy Stone". In 2013, he and his son participated in the first season of Hunan Television's reality show "Dad,Where Are We Going? Season Ⅰ" which won him widespread attention. He starred in the family drama "Romance of Our Parents" that aired in 2014. In 2015, he took the leading role in the crime film "The Dead End", which won him the Best Actor award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. From 2020 to 2023, he starred in a series of film and television works such as "A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower", "Love Like The Galaxy", and "Pursuit of Light". In 2023, he starred in several films that were screened in Mainland China, including "Could You Don't Leave Me", "The Great War" and "赤腳醫生萬泉和 (Barefoot Doctor Wan Quanhe)". In the same year, his drama "A Long Way Home" was broadcast on CCTV-1 and Tencent Video and won him the Year's Most Popular TV Drama Actor Award at the 2023 Tencent Video Starlight Awards. In 2024, Guo Tao participated in the "2024 Beijing Broadcasting and Television Spring Festival Gala". In the same year, he starred in the film "Three Old Boys" which was released in Mainland China.
